ASABA/Nigeria: A frontrunner for the seat of Ndokwa East in the Delta State House of Assembly for the forthcoming 2019 General Election, Engr. Philip Ugbomah, had said that the next election will be a new dawn for the people of the constituency.
The House of Assembly aspirant made this statement on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, secretariat in Asaba after picking his nomination and intention to contest forms.
Engr. Ugbomah who was elated at his successful collection of the form, stated before journalists, that his aspiration to contest is service to the common man of the area, and with the successful collection, the dreams of those who are aspiring for better representation will be achieved.
According to him, his successful collection of the forms is bed of the new dream for the people of Ndokwa east and himself, and answers to the yearnings of the voiceless in the area.
“This is a bed of a new dream for the common man in Ndokwa east, a bed of a new dream to build an oil city, which always informed what Ndokwa east stand for. To me this is also answering the yearnings to the voice of the voiceless in the area.”
He stated that the nomination form also expresses the future of the thousands of the people of Ndokwa east.
He again used the occasion of the successful collection of the forms, that his coming, is to re-engineer the area, as had been evident by the slogan of his campaign, “Do the work campaign”, which had its focus on the building of the area to the development of its economic potentials and for harmonious, and peaceful coexistence.
“I appeal to the entire people of Ndokwa east, especially the delegates at this stage, to see our seriousness in this project, as can be evidenced in our campaign slogan, that we are coming to re-engineer the people of Ndokwa east for a better development, so we can develop the economic potentials of the area, live a harmonious and peaceful life, above all give back power to those the power belongs to, who are our people, and to continuously seek for advice from our elders.”
Engr. Ugbomah dismissed the rumours that he is being sponsored by some elements to destabilise the chances of some other aspirants, he said the rumours was part of the orchestration of elements that are afraid of his candidacy.
“That is been sponsored by some elements who are afraid of my candidacy, and who does not want to understand that politics is about your capacity and what you have to give to the people. I just picked my form, and this put me in line for active contention for the candidacy of our party, and to put me as the candidate that will represent the Peoples Democratic Party in the state house of assembly, and thus bringing the real developmental plan that our forefathers dreamt of.” He said.
