Prominent political pressure group championing citizens’ rights to good governance across the senatorial districts of Delta State, under the umbrella of Community Grassroots Movement (CGM) has graciously congratulated newly elected Senators for Delta Central and Delta South Senatorial Districts, Chief Ede Dafinone, and Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, as well as Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, on his re-election as the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
The patron of CGM and renowned scholar, Professor Stephen Egarievwe, in a statement, described the trio as intellectual behemoths, brilliant and ingenious politicians imbued with rare legislative acumen obviously in huge demand to ignite quality and impactful deliberations at plenaries of the red and green chambers of the National Assembly.
Professor Stephen Egarievwe said, “On behalf of the eminent members of Community Grassroots Movement, l joyfully congratulate the trio of Chief Ede Dafinone, Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas and Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, on their victory in the just concluded 2023 elections. I’m excited to note that bringing into play your wealth of knowledge in dealing with routine legislative activities will validate the fact that our democracy is not bankrupt of noble men with progressive ideas. Your victory at the polls is a laudable feat – unquestionably clean and fitting for the good people of Delta Central, Delta South, Urhobo nation, Delta State and Nigeria.
“We have no doubt that your reign will etch your modest names on the tapestry of Nigeria history as you bring on board a legacy of true nationalist, uprightness, competency, resourcefulness, sacrifice, and accountability in all spheres of your legislative assignments.”
Professor Stephen Egarievwe extolled the chaste virtues of Chief Dafinone, Hon. Onowakpo and Rev. Waive, saying, “As descent gentlemen of noble disposition, passionately admired by the good people of your constituencies, you’ve begun another phase of public assignments that demand your integrity, patriotism, humility and deep understanding of the semantics that define legislative debates.
“We bank on your astuteness and intellectual prowess as you set out to calve a niche for yourselves. Your enviable brand of humility, proactiveness and unwavering commitment to the pursuit of noble cause will unprecedentedly power the Nigerian legislative landscape and format it for better performance.”
The university don added that over the years, Chief Dafinone, Hon. Onowakpo and Rev. Waive have demonstrated practically the right way of being as evident in their innate potentials, unassailable expertise and incorruptible carriage with which they prudently manage and engineer astronomical growths in numerous brands of business portfolios across national and international spread.
He expressed confidence that Chief Dafinone, Hon. Onowakpo, and Rev. Waive will deploy their wealth of experience in full dose to improve legislation and engender commendable improvement in the well-being of their constituents and also enhance the general good of the hopeful Nigerian citizens.”
Continuing, the academic icon noted that the victory of the trio is the outcome of ceaseless prayers and desires of the good people of Delta Central and Delta South to have thoroughbred, honest, pragmatic, selfless and dependable intellectuals as their representatives at the upper and lower chambers of the national assembly.
“We wish you all the best and pray that your tenure will usher a new phase of hope for the people of Delta Central and Delta South, and Nigerians at large,” the group stated.
