Matriculation Ceremony of Novena University, Ogume

OGUME/Nigeria: Nine hundred and fifty two undergraduates were on Thursday, took the matriculation oath for the 2020/2021 academic session of the Novena University, Ogume, Delta State.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Godwin Nduka in an address, congratulated the students for gaining admission into the University which he described as “Centre of Academic Excellence.”

“Matriculation is the official enrolment of candidates who were successful in the Joint Admission Matriculation Examinations and the subsequent screening for central selection for enrolment in the various Nigerian Universities.

“The process is long and rigorous, hence, you should happily congratulate yourselves on getting to this point of entering your name in the admission register.

“This is our 16th matriculation ceremony to mark the official admission of fresh students into this Citadel of Higher Learning.

“Deviant behaviours such as cultism, examination malpractice, alcoholism, abuses, indecent dressing, stealing, fighting, damage to property,  are not allowed and we advocate University community policing which makes it possible for all of us to be involved in ensuring our safety.

“Report any suspicious movement or activity to the authority and stay away from violating your matriculation oath.

“Novena University is a unique University in various respects and that makes her to stand out always, with the College of Health Science (Anatomy, Medical Lab Science, Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacology, Physiology,  Public and Community Health.  Doctor of Pharmacy,  Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry will take-off soon); College of Management and Social Services  (Accounting,  Business Administration,  Economics,  Intelligent and Security Studies, Mass Communication and Political Science); College of Law with the various departments in legal studies; College of Natural and Applied Sciences with the following departments  – Chemical Science,  Computer Science/Mathematics,  Energy and Petroleum Studies,  and Micro-biology.”

Students who were interviewed, expressed joy that they were able to secure admission at the university.
