The Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon. (Barr.) C.S Possible Ajede has heaped glowing commendations on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for giving him and other Chairmen, as well as his appointees the platform to leverage and contribute their quotas in ensuring he finishes strong in the course of building a stronger Delta for all Deltans.

Continuing, Barr. Ajede, thanked the governor for his unprecedented infrastructural developmental strides across the state bouyed by his SMART Leadership model and result-oriented governance thus, making Delta State a glowing example to other states in the country.
The pragmatic council boss gave this commendations on Monday 21 February while playing host to the Special Adviser to the Governor, Directorate of Local Government, Hon Prince Kelly Penavwon, in his office at the council’s Secretariat, Obiaruku.

In his address, Barr. Ajede noted that Governor Okowa’s legacies in every facet of governance have become a source of inspiration to him as he makes commendable progress in infrastructure development within his first 100 days in office, which includes reconstruction and modernization of Obi-Obeti Market, Obeti; reconstruction of 2, 6, and 4 classrooms and offices at Ethiope Primary School, Umutu, and construction of 5 culverts at Ezhionum farm roads.
The Chairman’s further hinted that as part of his #StepUpUkwuaniAgenda, the following capital projects are currently ongoing – construction of Obiaruku City Stadium; construction of Ultra-Modern Legislative Office Complex, Construction of Ultra-Modern Local Education Authority Office Complex and the construction of a modern abattoir.

“These projects will be completed in record time,” he confidently stated.
Barr. Ajede, also thanked Governor Okowa for the ongoing construction of Eziokpor Road, including construction of multi-billion naira bridge in Obiaruku, and other landmark projects across Ukwuani LGA.

He however, appealed to the governor to assist the council in the ongoing construction of the stadium, saying, “Ukwuani people are in dire need of a stadium.” Also, he prayed the state government to consider the completion of the Umuebu Road construction project.

Continuing, Barr. Ajede disclosed his administration’s developmental plan for Security, Environmental Sanitation, Agriculture, Human Capital Development, Sports, Education and Primary Health Care, geared towards bettering the lives of Ukwuani people.

He pledged his unwavering loyalty and unflinching support to Governor Okowa’s led administration to ensure the governor finishes strong, saying, “as Governor Okowa leads, I follow, as well as the Ukwuani people.”

In his speech, Hon. Prince Kelly Penavwon commended the Ukwuani Council Chairman for his good works to improve the well-being of Ukwuani people in a period of 100 days in office, describing the Chairman’s trajectory of infrastructural development coming on stream as unprecedented.

He however, urged the council to ensure that the local government is kept clean at all times, even as he encouraged the council to ensure monthly Environmental Sanitation is observed regularly, stating that peace, security and primary health care are vital areas the council boss should look into.

Highpoint of the visit was a tour round the construction site of the Ultra-Modern Legislative Office Complex.
