ASABA/Nigeria: As the new work year resumes, The Permanent Secretary Government House and Protocol Mr. Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje has charged civil servants to be resourceful, diligent and dedicated to their duties.

The Permanent Secretary who gave the charge , January 5, 2019 during a meeting with staff of the Directorate in Asaba said that through commitment and dedication to duty one would improve in his performance.

According to him” as we begin a new work year let us put old and bad habits behind us and face our duties with commitment, dedication and diligence because only then can we improve on our performance as workers”.

He admonished the civil servants to always dress properly, avoid tardiness and live their lives according to the dictates of God.

While stressing the importance of civil servants to remain neutral in politics, Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje called on individuals to partake in the upcoming elections by coming enmasse to vote as “our future will be determined by voting the right people into office,  on election days,t your voices be heard by coming out to vote”.

Motivational speaker Mr. Fidelis Edonyabo who delivered a lecture on “Honesty, Commitment and Dedication to Duty”, explained that one should achieve satisfaction in their duties by being productive, creative and cordial in their place of work.

“The right workplace attitude is to love your work, be committed, be resourceful and create solutions by thinking outside the box rather than staying docile” he said.

High point of the meeting was the rendering of praises and prayers for the new year, the government, the staff, the state and the nation.
