The Special Assistant to DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, on legislative matters and Convener of a high powered political pressure group, Agege New Delta Model (ANDEM), Pastor Edewor Egedegbe, has inaugurated a 29-executive member of the group in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state to mobilize the electorates and galvanize massive support to actualize the victory of DSP Ovie Omo-Agege as governor of oil rich Delta state in 2023.
The inauguration took place on Saturday 25 September, 2022, at Urhobo House, Ughelli.
In his speech, Pastor Egedegbe said, “we are here today to inaugurate a formidable 29 executive members of the Ughelli north local government chapter of ANDEM, who in turn will inaugurate the 29-member wards and units executives to work assiduously with the campaign council that will be put together by our principal (DSP Ovie Omo-Agege), and our party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the coming days, in our quest to coasting home with victory, come 2023, by the grace of God.”
Continuing, he said that ANDEM would be Inaugurated in all the 25 local governments in the state to drive its vision across the state. He lamented the developmental challenges confronting Delta state occasioned by poor leadership, saying, “it is obvious that since Delta state was created 31 years ago, it has continually been on the reverse gear owing to poor management of our common patrimony.”
He continued, “it is obvious that over the years, selfish leaders have plundered the rich resources of our blessed state and continually impoverished the citizens while subjecting them to perpetual hardship.”
Pastor Egedegbe, while charging the executive members of ANDEM to hit the ground running with elaborate political activities that would cascade to the grassroots across the nook and cranny of Ughelli North, said, “ANDEM is fully constituted with formidable and savvy politicians and faithful of the All Progressive Congress with unwavering determination to stimulate mobilization of the grassroots and activate actions to create events and programmes that loudly popularize the sterling qualities and unsurpassed achievements of DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, which Deltans are passionately clamouring to address the myriads of challenges bedeviling the state currently.”
Fielding questions from journalists, Pastor Egedegbe noted that ANDEM was conceived to drive the vision of actualizing a new Delta state where justice and prosperity is guaranteed for all, adding that its mission is centered on catalyzing sustainable development of Delta state through visionary and transformative leadership. He listed the objectives of ANDEM to include mobilize Deltans to benefit from the sterling leadership qualities of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; encourage and support Senator Omo-Agege in actualizing Delta state of our dream; promote, coordinate and facilitate partnership and collaboration with the electorates and initiate activities to bring together diverse stakeholders including voluntary organisations, associations, persons, and other bodies to loud Agege’s vision for Delta state.
Pastor Egedegbe charged the newly inaugurated executive members of ANDEM to put in their best and remain steadfast in the quest to collectively cast away darkness from Delta state through the ballot, saying, “we trust you all as men and women of great personalities with huge political and electoral values to contribute to the success of Agege political dynasty and the APC family.”
While administering the oath of office to the newly Inaugurated executive, Co-Convener of ANDEM, Mr. Sunday Onyewonsa, tasked them on commitment to the vision of the party, saying that all hands must be on deck to achieve the new and progressive Delta state the good people of the state are yearning for, come 2023.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated executive, the Coordinator of ANDEM, Ughelli North chapter, Comrade Sam Ogeleza, thanked Pastor Edewor Egedegbe for finding the 29-member executive worthy of carrying out the all-important task geared at actualizing a the new Delta in 2023, driven by Omo-Agege’s unassailable vision.
He acknowledged the enormous responsibilities of his office in ensuring Agege’s victory, saying, “as a staunch party-man, I have what it takes to drive ANDEM and actualize DSP Omo-Agege’s electoral victory in Ughelli North,” adding that, “the formidable members of the Exco and l will work assiduously to galvanize support across Ughelli North through impactful sensitization, mobilization and education of the electorates to achieve the task we have before us.”
Continuing, he expressed a worry that despite the humongous resources Delta state is endowed with, “it has over the years lacked visionary leaders gifted with magic wand to prudently manage the state’s resources and improve wellbeing of the citizens.”
In his speech, the APC Chairman, Ughelli North, Hon. Omoabedje Obakpororo, charged the 29-member executive to be committed to the task they have been constituted to achieve, saying, “you have been given the mandate to deliver all APC candidates in Ughelli North, we count on your capacity to make us proud as the political activities in the state gets thick.”
Speaking earlier, Deacon Monday Enudi, Director of Organization, ANDEM, described the inauguration as a remarkable day in the political journey of Delta state, saying, “our mission with regard to the inauguration of this powerful group is very clear. With inauguration of ANDEM in all the 25 local governments in the coming days, victory for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is certain.”
He stated further, “we are here to inaugurate success of APC, therefore, we must kick start our activities now to pursue our common agenda in Delta State – “Agege for governor in 2023.”
