UDU/Nigeria: Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Chief Andrew Ogheneaga Orugbo has called on the relevant authorities to construct a drainage system at the flood prone area of Udu Road Express Junction, Ovwian Udu Local Government Area.
The former Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council made the call in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent at his office close to the said junction recently.
He explained that the call was aimed at finding a lasting solution to the flood problem which he noted was embarrassing and a danger to vehicular movements.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Udu Local Government Area recalled that the Udu Local Government Council in some time past cleared the flood.
He therefore stressed that construction of a flood control system was a permanent solution to the problem of flooding at the said junction.
Orugbo however called on the Udu Local Government Council to get rid of the flood as a temporary solution to allow for free vehicular movements at the said Junction.
He also called on the relevant traffic control authorities to pay special attention to vehicular movements in the area as he noted desperate vehicle users were driving on one way.
