A national group, Elites For Good Governance (EFGG) has called on the people of Delta State to come out en mass and vote for the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sheriff Oborevwori in the forthcoming March 11 election.

The group, in a statement issued yesterday (05/03/2023) and signed by its National President, Mr. Ogie Samson, said the candidate of the ruling People’s Democratic Party was adequately prepared to become the governor of the oil rich state.

It advised the electorates not to be deceived by other gubernatorial candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP), saying, “The fellows don’t have good intentions for the state.”

The group said, “The electorates should guard against the tricks being perfected by other candidates who never meant well for the people of the state. They should come out on Saturday and vote for Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party because he is better endowed to rule the state.”

Continuing, the group charged the electorates to always scrutinize the candidates’ social and political abilities before staking their votes for them, saying, “That’s the only way the masses can make the right choice and get the dividend of democracy. On the basis of his antecedents, Hon. sheriff Oborevwori glaringly stands out amongst all the candidates as the most credible candidate to govern Delta State.”

EFGG admonished the members of the Labour Party in the state not to waste their votes on their candidate, Ken Pela, noting that he has been living all his life in Lagos and has over the years, disconnected with the happenings and desire of the people of the state.

“We advise the masses identifying with the Obedient manta to understand that the fellow contesting for Governorship under the platform of labour party has never contributed, in any way, in the development of the state, as he has been living in Lagos until he decided to come to Delta State this time to hatch a stratagem of cruising on the anger of the masses to get what he didn’t work for and doesn’t have the ability to control,” the group stated.

The group added that after an extensive research, its members decided to throw their weight behind Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, knowing his towering pedigree as a grassroot politician unrelentingly fostering unity among the masses, and always easily accessible to the people.

Continuing, EFGG berated PDP members defecting to the opposition All Progressive Congress in the state, describing them as opportunists who had benefitted immensely from the People’s Democratic Party since 1999 till date.
