ASABA/Nigeria: The People of Ndokwa had been called to take advantage of the ongoing continuous Voters Registration, CRV to be eligible to exercise their fundamental Rights to vote for future elections in the country.

The statement call was made by a group, the New Delta National League, NDNL, an advocacy group Thursday July 29, 2021, made available to our correspondent in Asaba

The statement which was signed by the National President, Yisah Omarayerue Peter, and Secretary, Comrade Chanumuya Andrew Azubuike, stated that Nigerians, particularly the people of Ndokwa are 18 years and above that have not registered for their Permanent Voters Card, PVC to do so as that is their power to vote leaders of their choice and also to be voted for.

It stated that the group is carrying out sensitization campaigns around the 25 local government areas of the state and mobilization of eligible voters to go out and register for their PVC, saying that the issue of PVC is very key for the electorates as that was the only legal right to cast vote for the candidates of their choices.

The group decried the lack of interest shown by some Nigerians who have lost hope in government as a result of bad governance said the processes of electing credible leaders begins with the registration and collection of PVC’s.

The NDNL noted that the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC has commenced online Continuous Voters Registration CVR, adding that intending voters who are 18 years and above can register online and thereafter proceed to INEC designated centers to complete with the processes.

The group had so far visited several Units, Wards and Local Government Areas across the state sensitizing the people on the need for eligible voters to register for their PVC as 84 million Nigerians are on the voters register which is not commensurate with the eligible populace. The statement added that Nigerians should not toy with the issue of voters registration as that is the yardstick to participate in every election.
