WARRI/Nigeria: Africa Cataract and Eye Foundation in its mission to help eliminate Cataract blindness, is organising a four day cataract surgery in Warri and Benin City.
According to Dr. Mejuya Okorodudu, an ophthalmologist in charge of the surgeries, the surgical programme tagged “one free cataract surgery for patients with bilateral cataracts; get one free surgery and pay for one” will start on Monday April 26 and run till Thursday April 29, 8am to 5pm.
Explaining that no one should be needlessly blind, Dr. Okorodudu noted that the programme which has been running monthly in Edo and Delta State will offer free eye check and a subsidised cataract surgery for patients with cataract on one eye while those with cataract on two eyes will get a complete free surgery on one and pay for the other.
He added that venue for potential patients in Edo state is THE EYE HOSPITAL, 4b, Willy Oshiodin Street, Off Akhionbare Street,
G.R.A., Benin City, while for those in Delta State, the venue is AFRICA CATARACT VISION CENTRE, Agbowu Medical Center, Ogbe Drive, Ekurede-ltsekiri, Warri.
