ABEOKUTA/Nigeria: In a surprising turn of events, the Northern Youth Leader’s Forum (NYLF), an umbrella organization comprising over 43 groups from Northern Nigeria, has shifted its allegiance from its preferred candidate to throw its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2023 presidential polls. The NYLF made its stance clear during a press briefing held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where they also sought the support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the Tinubu project.
During the press briefing, Comrade Elliot Afiyo, the National President of the Northern Youth Leaders Forum, delivered a passionate speech, referring to President Tinubu as a “Moses” for Nigeria. According to Afiyo, Tinubu’s emergence as President is a divine project and a working process set forth by God. While he acknowledged that Tinubu may not be the one to lead the nation to the Promised Land, he emphasized that Tinubu will serve as the mentor and trailblazer for the future leader who will guide Nigeria to its ultimate destiny.
The NYLF believes that President Tinubu’s ascent to power is a significant development, marking a crucial juncture in Nigeria’s history. They view it as a divine intervention orchestrated by God to liberate and empower the Nigerian people. Despite facing opposition from various quarters, including the Presidency, the Cabal, financial institutions, political godfathers, his own party (APC), religious groups, and international entities, Tinubu prevailed against all odds to emerge victorious in the presidential election.
The organization commended President Tinubu for his initial actions and decisions during the first month of his administration. They expressed their belief that his appointment of Service Chiefs, unification of foreign currency exchange rates, and other measures are indicative of his commitment to the welfare and progress of the nation. The NYLF maintained that these developments signify the beginning of a positive era for the country.
In their quest for support, the NYLF appealed to influential figures, including former Presidents, Heads of State, Military Chiefs, Traditional and Religious Leaders, to rally behind President Tinubu’s administration. They acknowledged the need for unity and urged all stakeholders to set aside their differences and work towards the success of Tinubu’s government.
Expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for his appointments, particularly those of the National Security Adviser, Chief of Defense Staff, Inspector-General of Police, and Comptroller-General of Customs, the NYLF urged the President to expedite the confirmation process for these individuals, considering it a matter of urgency and emergency.
The NYLF’s surprising change of allegiance also prompted a message to the opposition parties and their presidential candidates. While encouraging them to pursue their cases at the Tribunal with decorum, they advised the opposition to align themselves with President Tinubu’s administration if they aspire to gain popularity or succeed in future political endeavors. The organization emphasized that when a supernatural declaration is made, natural protocols and qualifications become irrelevant and illegal, as they are superseded by the authority of the supernatural.
In conclusion, the NYLF’s endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a divine project has sent shockwaves through the political landscape. Their decision to back Tinubu represents a significant shift in their stance, and they are actively seeking support from influential figures to ensure the success of his administration. As the 2023 presidential polls draw closer, all eyes will be on President Tinubu and the impact of the NYLF’s support on his campaign.
