WARRI/Nigeria: The Executive Director, Social Services Directorate, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon Chris Ochor Ochor has commiserated with the members of Delta state Command of Anticult Volunteer Corps (AVC) on the death of one of the Volunteer member and Commander, Obiaruku Unit, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Mr Akudo Kennachor, who was shot death on Saturday, September 2, 2017, in Obiaruku.
Hon Ochor while commiserating with the members of AVC on the death of Mr Kennachor, called on the people of Obiaruku, and the entire Local Government to pull their resources to fight every form of criminality in the society.
He called on the corps members not to relent in their fight against the evil of cultism in the area, but rather his memory should spoor them to eliminate the evil activity of cultism.
“You have lost one of your own, it is painful, but in his memory, the war against cultism has to be strengthened”.
The Executive Director further called on the people to help identify those that are members and report them to the authourity, as issue of security is meant for all, and should not be left in the hands of the various security services.
He task parents and guardians to help in checking the activities of their wards, as the education from home is very vital to peaceful society and coexistence.
“As parents and guardians, we have a responsibility to check our children and wards. To know their activities. And we can achieve a peaceful and crime free society by giving them the needed vital informal education that they require for a better life”. He said.
