Okene Community, in Okuokoko, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, has inaugurated new executive to pilot its affairs in the next three years.
Comrade James Egbedi administered the oath of office to members of the executive.

Okakurho Gberevwie, advised the new executive to put the interest of the community far and above personal interest, saying, “if you do anything that undermines the interest of the community, the traditional institution has the rights to remove you from office.”

The Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, Hon. Isaiah thanked the people of Okene community for the successful inauguration of the new executive. He sued for peaceful coexistence between the elders council and the youth arm of the community, saying: “It’s good you work together. Your government should be transparent. With understanding, you people will be able to do things without any problems.”

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated President-General, Evang. Believe Otatohwoma thanked God Almighty for the successful inauguration of the executive, saying, “today is a great day as we witness another peaceful handing and taking over of government in Okene Community.

“This moment calls for Celebration and thanksgiving to God for all he has been doing for us. On this note, the new governing council under my leadership promise to surpass the achievements of our predecessor and we are calling on the residents of Okuokoko to support us as we serve them with sense of diligence and commitment to the development of the community for the good of all.”

The members of the newly inagurated executive include Evang. Believe Otatohwoma, President-General; Comrade Scott Ofoluwa, Vice President; Comrade Osiebe Aghwotu, Secretary-General; Comrade Daniel Obodo, Public Relations Officer (PRO); Comrade Sweet Ovie, Treasurer; Comrade Lawrence Enameguono, Provost; Comrade Charles, Assistant Secrrtary-General; Comrade Endurance Okoh, Financial Secretary; and others.
