ASABA,Delta State: The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has empowered 500 residents of Delta North with cash grants, Digital branding training and Farming Entrepreneurship.
The empowerment initiated by Senator Nwoko in.collaboration with the Federal Government was held at the weekend at Asaba, with participants drawn from the 98 wards in Delta North .
The beneficiaries of the training in Digital Branding , Social Media Management as well as Farming included youths,men and women who received cash grants and feeds.
Addressing participants, Senator Nwoko who said the empowerment would continue in phases, stated that the focus is to identify gaps in the knowledge, skills and abilities of participants and hoped they would maximise the grants to upscale their livelihood.
The Senator, flanked by some leaders in Anioma which included Engr. Emma Eboh and others, said he would remain committed to Anioma cause with the intention of bringing essential dividends to the people.
He explained that his proposal for the creation of Anioma State which is generating intense debates in recent times is in the best interests of Anioma people . He urged various constituents of Delta North not to lose what they were divinely orchestrated to benefit from in the Nigerian polity.
While asking the participants to lend their voices to the ongoing discourse, the audience unanimously echoed their support and endorsement for the creation of Anioma State,.
According to Nwoko: “This Empowerment programme is targeted at the most vulnerable – the aged, persons with disabilities, as well as the unemployed youths.
“More people will be empowered in the months ahead. I am in the Senate for the well-being of my people,
“I am irrevocably committed to the creation of Anioma State.
“I welcome more suggestions and recommendations from stakeholders in the Anioma Project.The goals we seek are the development of our land, realization of the dreams of our forebears and dignity of Anioma people”, Senator Nwoko said.
