The commissioner also stated that he dedicated the award to the entire staff of the Ministry of Information, whom he described as very dutiful, adding that he enjoyed every time he spent with them. According to the Information Commissioner, the award was given to him not for serving Anioma but because he had served Delta State diligently, saying the essence of service was to build bridges of friendship and oneness across the state. He said the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa at the just concluded governorship election in the state proved that rotation of the seat of the governor had helped to promote understanding among the people of Delta State. The commissioner revealed that he accepted the award because membership of Anioma Media Associates was composed of individuals who ply their trades locally and internationally and had contributed in integrating the state into one united entity in line with agenda of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. “You are people plying your trades locally and internationally and have contributed in integrating this state into one united entity in line with the stand of our governor. That is why I accepted this award. I believe strongly that it is well thought out but we also believe that service has just started with this kind of award. “In everything we do, let us continue to build bridges across. The power of rotation has helped us to understand ourselves the more and you are not giving me this award because I have served Anioma but because I have served Delta diligently,” Chief Ukah who was full of thanks to the body stated.
