ABUJA/Nigeria: The Nigeria Police has been commended for the hitch-free Christmas celebration across the country and asked to do more in ushering in the New Year in the same peaceful atmosphere.
This was contained in a press release signed by the National Coordinator, United Young Professionals, Adewole Kehinde in Abuja on Wednesday after the assessment tour of major black spot in the country.
Adewole explained that the assessment was aimed at having an on-the-spot -assessment of the enormous task of ensuring that the country enjoy peaceful atmosphere during the Yuletide.
Adewole acknowledged the sacrifices of Policemen and called for the relentless efforts at eliminating criminalities across the country.
While addressing those on duties on Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, Adewole said, “You are the future of the Nigeria Police, therefore, you should view this operation as a unique opportunity to learn and also provide quality and effective leadership to the security arrangement put in place by the Inspector General of Police.’’
He commended the Inspector General of Police and Management Team for their dedication and steadfastness in ensuring that the welfare of the Nigeria Police is of great importance citing the recent public hearing on the Bill for “Police Development Fund” at the National Assembly.
