ASABA/Nigeria: Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe, has attributed the harmonious relationship among ethnic groups within the state to the unwavering leadership approach and the systematic implementation of the MORE agenda by Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Dr. Oghenesivbe stated this in a recent interview on a Radio programme.

Oghenesivbe emphasized the governor’s steadfast commitment to fulfilling electoral promises encapsulated in the socio-economic blueprint, the MORE agenda, presented during the governorship election.

He highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s focus on enhancing democracy’s dividends through impactful social welfare programmes, such as the clearance of outstanding promotion areas for civil servants and proactive steps to drive development across the state’s three Senatorial Districts via significant infrastructure projects.

As the CEO of the Delta State Orientation Bureau (DSOB), Oghenesivbe underscored the ongoing construction of flyovers, road expansions, and pedestrian bridges at key junctions, noting their potential to elevate commercial activities in Delta South and Delta Central senatorial districts upon completion. He reiterated the governor’s dedication to prioritizing the populace and ensuring the swift, high-quality delivery of ongoing projects, including major road constructions and inspections across all districts.

“Delta’s tranquility is a direct result of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to good governance. His inclusive leadership has been instrumental in fostering an enduring atmosphere of peace among Deltans, and this will persist throughout his tenure,” stated Oghenesivbe.

He further highlighted the rapid progress in development initiatives, noting significant contracts awarded within a short period, covering both upland and riverine communities. Oghenesivbe assured that no region of the state would be neglected during the governor’s tenure.

The recent commencement of the N78 billion flyovers and road expansion projects across the senatorial districts was hailed as unprecedented in Delta State’s history, earning the moniker “Sheriff wonders” among citizens. Additionally, the disbursement of funds under the D-CARES implementation program for human capital development and environmental preservation initiatives were highlighted as crucial steps taken by the government.

Governor Oborevwori’s proactive stance on climate change was emphasized, with plans to promote clean energy, sensitize citizens on the hazards of certain practices, and explore partnerships for the adoption of electric vehicles. This commitment was reaffirmed by the appeal for international collaboration on climate change sensitization at the recent Climate Change Conference in Dubai.

Oghenesivbe concluded by outlining the Orientation Bureau’s upcoming climate change sensitization programs across the three senatorial districts, aiming to educate citizens on the dangers of detrimental environmental practices.

“As we approach 2024, Governor Oborevwori remains dedicated to delivering even more substantial democratic dividends to Deltans. Our focus is to position Delta as a leading, economically vibrant state in Nigeria,” assured Oghenesivbe.
